By purchasing, downloading, or using The Vault Co. application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
The Vault Co. is a private, locally-encrypted personal wealth tracking application for Windows and Mac. The App allows you to record and track financial assets including cash, Bitcoin, XRP, gold, and silver. All data is stored exclusively on your device using AES-256-GCM encryption. No data is transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Upon purchase of a Founding Member License, you are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the App on up to two (2) devices simultaneously.
Upon purchase of a Vault Lifetime License, you are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, perpetual license to install and use the App on up to two (2) devices simultaneously. Unlike the Annual Plan described in Section 3.3, the Vault Lifetime License does not require ongoing payment and does not expire, subject at all times to the Restrictions in Section 3.4 and our right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the App as described in Section 6.
Upon purchase of an Annual Plan, you are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the App for the duration of your active subscription.

Founding License purchases are processed through Gumroad. Prices are displayed in USD. By completing a purchase you agree to Gumroad's terms of service. The Founding License is covered by a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase. Outside of this window, the Founding License is non-refundable.
Annual Plan purchases are processed through Stripe and are billed in advance each year. The Annual Plan is covered by a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase. Outside of this window, the Annual Plan is non-refundable for time already billed. You can cancel at any time — canceling stops future renewal, and your access continues until the end of the year you've already paid for.
Vault Lifetime purchases are processed through Stripe as a single, one-time payment. There is no subscription associated with a Vault Lifetime License, no recurring billing, and nothing to cancel. The Vault Lifetime License is covered by a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase. Outside of this window, the Vault Lifetime purchase is non-refundable.
The App is a digital product. Depending on where you're purchasing from, you may have a legal right to a short cancellation or cooling-off period after buying digital content or services online. By completing a purchase, you are requesting that access to the App begin immediately rather than waiting out any such period, and you acknowledge that, as a result, you waive that right for the applicable initial purchase to the extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction. This does not affect the refund windows described in 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 above, which we offer as a matter of policy regardless of this waiver.
Abuse of refund policies, including repeated purchase and refund cycles, may result in permanent revocation of license or subscription access.
Your vault data is encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM encryption. We have no access to your data at any time. You are solely responsible for remembering your PIN. If you lose your PIN, your encrypted data cannot be recovered by us or by any third party. We strongly recommend noting your PIN in a secure location.
The App may receive automatic updates. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time. We may use a version control system to retire unsupported versions of the App with reasonable notice where possible.
The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from security vulnerabilities. You use the App at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Vault Co. and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of access to your vault arising from your use of the App.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international commercial law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good faith negotiation, or if necessary, binding arbitration.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The effective date at the top of this document will reflect the date of the most recent revision.
